David Teniers the Younger (1610-1690) was the most important painter from a family of Flemish painters.  He was prolific with over 2,000 works attributed to him.  He enjoyed international fame during his life time and his popularity continued into the 18th century, particularly in France.  He was especially well-known for his works of peasant life both at work and play.
