George Henry Harlow
Robert William Elliston
Robert William Elliston (1774-1831) – famous actor of his day, appearing in Bath until 1804 (where he became Jane Austen’s favourite actor), thereafter to Drury Lane, London. He appeared as a great lover on stage and was a notorious womaniser off-stage, in spite of his marriage to a dancer and a family of ten children. There is a print in Bath Museum which appears to be taken from this original watercolour.
