Born Logie Pert, Montrose. Sculptor and medallionist. Responsible for the memorial statue to Edward VII at Holyrood. Educated at James Gillespie's High School in Edinburgh and then trained at the Royal Institute in Edinburgh under Charles Hodder. Then went to London to study under Édouard Lantéri at South Kensington College. Returning to Edinburgh he studied under Willian Grant Stevenson RSA from 1899-1902. In 1908 he was elected an Associate of the Royal Scottish Academy and set up his own studio at 4 Hope Street.
Among the 86 works exhibited at the RSA were a bust of Major McCaig (of the Folly, Oban), a portrait bust of Fiddes Watt 1911, and a model for the bronze medallion of William Murdoch, the inventor of gas lighting, executed for his birthplace Luger, Ayrshire, in 1916. A large statue of Robert Burns is in Wyoming. Executed war memorials at Cupar and Montrose.
