We look at the work of Juan Jr Ramirez, a largely self taught artist from Chicago. Juan specializes in small scale portrait studies, oil on board. His great muse is John Singer Sargent, on whom Juan is quite an authority and is the subject of his lectures whenever Juan conducts a workshop around the States. We are planning a workshop at the McEwan Gallery next year, when the world re-opens, hopefully.
